More soaps!

Thanks to everyone for your emails and comments- they really are useful!
A special thanks to Kim who just sent this email:

Since the last time I contacted you, I have found a few more soaps. Native Mother Naturals makes a baby soap that is olive oil and avocado oil based. It is really gentle and way less harsh than the

Kiss My Face one. Also, there is an anti-itch soap that is sold in horse catalogues, but is also formulated for people. It smells like sulfur, but it works well on my face and seems to keep it pretty clear.

I talked to the owner of the company, and she HATES coconuts. She doesn't like anything about them; so, there isn't any coconut ingredients in it. I am going to include links to some really good

natural companies I have found. Most of them are local companies but can be found on their websites. Have you found any other shampoos you can use. I tried the Hugo one, and it stripped my hair

really bad. Plus, I am really allergic to phenoxyethanol; so, I can't use the conditioner you use either. My hairdresser friend told me my hair is oily; so, the vinegar and baking soda aren't doing the trick.

I will keep researching and passing information on to you.

Thanks,

Kim

As you probably guessed, not all of their products are coconut free. They all make really natural products that work.

(most don't have coconut, but read the ingredients. Shampoo bar available, Extra sensitive baby soap DOES have glycerin made from coconut).

www.abesmarket.com search for Out of Africa Shea Butter Soap - several choices.

I recently found Sallye Ander Soaps for my coconut allergic son. They have soaps, moisturizers, and shampoo bars that are all coconut free. They said this fall they will have one soap with a coconut ingredient, but that the rest of their line is coconut free. Their website is...

Penns hill soap company makes liquid and bar soaps from olive oil only-no coconut! They also have unscented and some scented with essential oils. My son and I have allergies and I have been looking for a liquid soap for him to take to school for so long!

Alaffia Authentic African Black Bar Soap, 3oz. in Unscented
Alaffia Extra Rich Authentic African Black Soap 8oz. in Unscented

Both are confirmed by Alaffia to be made without coconut derived agreements. These are the only two soaps they carry without coconut.

I have used the bar soap for several months on my face (oily) and body (dry). It has a light lather and it works well with an exfoliating towel. I've used it to shave but a fresh blade is a must.

Forward of the email response from Alaffia:
Majority of our products are created with coconut derived ingredients. The Lauryl Glucoside is naturally derived from coconut and palm kernel oil. The only two products available without coconut derived ingredients are our Extra Rich Authentic African Black Soap 8oz. in Unscented and Authentic African Black Bar Soap, 3oz. in Unscented. Our Production follows strict guidelines to prevent any cross contamination as these products are created in a coconut ingredient facility.

If I can assist you further, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you,
Sylvia
