A new coconut free shampoo for kids!

Great news!  Our reader, Kim, found

Clean Kids Naturally Shampoo!

Here is what she says:

I have been using these products for my kids and love the conditioner for myself. They are actually advertised as coconut free. Yeah! http://gabrielcosmeticsinc.com/shop/clean-kids-naturally-detangler/

I hope this helps. I buy it at our Natural Grocers store. It's cheaper, but they don't offer the larger sizes.

Kim

Thanks, Kim!!

I found this post while searching for coconut free shampoos. I ordered this for my 7 year old daughter who has a coconut allergy. We both are in love with the shampoo and conditioner. It makes our hair feel so soft. Thanks for the recommendation.

Do all the oils in this shampoo make hair oily? Just curious because I have oily hair. I've struggled finding shampoo for 5 years now. I've tried so many no poo recipes. I was so excited about the soap nuts recipe, but it makes my hair feel like straw. I tried clay recipe, but it made my scalp itch. I also tried an egg, but it's only good to use that once a week, because the protein. Having a coconut allergy is not fun.

I've been using this for about a month. It's perfect. It's the most shampoo-like coconut-free shampoo I've tried.

They also have a rather nice soap that smells very strongly of licorice (licorice extract being one of the ingredients), and I really like that too.

Just purchased the set and it is amazing! For the first time in so many years my scalp doesn't burn and itch after washing it!

I have started looking into making my own skin care products and came across this page. It is company committed to developing surfactants from olive, flax, linseed, etc. Thought it was interesting!

Look up Chagrin Valley's shampoo's and soaps. They have bar shampoos, and I found a couple that have zero coconut in them! They also sell a basic castille soap bar without coconut. I like that they list every single ingredient too.

There are some all-oil shampoos from various providers that are coconut-free, however, these tend to also not be lathering and thus not "shampoo like." If they work for you, that's great!
